· Use Blank document, A4 Portrait, Full Page
· Start by drawing a textbox with your rectangle tool and formatting appropriately
· Ensure the data is balanced on your page (many textboxes will give more flexibility).
· Use the Table function where appropriate and merge cells/remove borders
· Select a clipart from the Internet that you feel is appropriate. |

Alphabet Booklet: (No Header or Footer)
· Use Blank document, Book Fold and say Yes to dialogue box question – you need to insert extra pages
· Change orientation to Landscape (File, Page Setup, Landscape, OK)
· Ensure that you have four pages showing at the bottom of your screen
· Page 1 is for your Title, a Graphic, a Border and your name.
· Page 2 is for A, B and C – use drop cap function at the start of an A , B and C sentence. Insert an appropriate clipart for each letter.
· Page 3 is for D, E and F
· Page 4 is for G, H and I
· Check that you have formatted appropriately – enhanced font sizes/styles; balanced each page
· Print (you will get two pages to fold together) |

· More confident with balancing text and graphics appropriately on a page
· Able to use the drop cap function
· Able to insert and resize a clipart |

Vintage Car Advertisement (A4 Portrait)
· Improve the design, especially the font styles and sizes to add interest to the document |

Carpet Cleaning Advertisement (A4 Landscape)
· Use your layout guides to set two columns and three rows
· You are to make two A5 advertisements by creating the first advert on the left half of the landscape page. Once finished, this advertisement will be grouped, copied, pasted and dragged to the right side of the paper.
· Draw a border on the left side of the sheet ensuring that you leave an appropriate border on the left and before the middle layout guide line.
· Create the document using drawing tools and multiple textboxes.
· Use reverse text as shown

· Enter data in textboxes inside shapes without affecting the shape border

· Critique them using the theory sheet table
· Research the internet for publishing/design term meanings |

Heavenly Veterinary Clinic Quarterly Newsletter (A4 Portrait, 2-page document)
· Format main textbox as two columns with reasonable space between
· Use separate boxes for the advertisements and use different fonts to provide contrast with main articles
· Ensure you reduce the space between the bullet and text to 0.5 cm instead of 1cm
· Use justified text for main articles
· Have consistency between the two pages (to insert second page go Insert, Page)
· Remove hyphenation |

· Use planning form and show it to your teacher.
· Your friend owns a computing business and intends to hold a sale. He has asked you to design a leaflet/flier for distribution around the town.
· Use your imagination and make up:
o A company name

· Insert no more than two graphics
· Use at least three text enhancements, eg font style/size, bold, italic, reverse text.

· Use at least three text enhancements, eg font style/size, bold, italic, reverse text.
Topic choice:
· A tourist destination
· An entertainer/musician/group you admire
· A career you are interested in
· A tertiary education institution you are interested in attending
