Tokoroa High School YEAR 13 PHYSICS COURSE OUTLINE 2008

Introduction

The Year 13 Physics programme is based on the level 8 of the Physics in the New Zealand Curriculum National Curriculum document and will offer the students the opportunity to attempt the Achievement Standards at NCEA Level 3.  The aims of the course are expand the understandings made in Year 12, to provide a variety of learning experiences relevant to students which both stimulate student interest in Physics and to allow students to develop further a knowledge and understanding of the physical world around them.  Students will undertake a variety of experiences in the search for understanding of Physical concepts and observations of the world around them.

Each topic or unit within the year 13 Physics course is developed to provide learning experiences relevant to the level 8 curriculum objectives of the Physics curriculum document and preparing students for NCEA Level 3 Achievement Standards.
